Daily Moisturization for Atopic Dermatitis: Importance, Recommendations, and Moisturizer Choices

Topical moisturizers are the core treatment for atopic dermatitis (AD), with guidelines recommending at least daily thorough moisturization of both lesional and nonlesional skin. Ultimately, moisturizer selection is an individual, personal choice, but, surprisingly, few have published efficacy acceptability data to support decision making. This clinical feature emphasizes value AD summarizes types available. Nurse practitioners/physician assistants manage educate patients caregivers on optimizing this key aspect disease management. practitioner/physician assistant interventions may lead impressive increases in use reductions chronic severity.
